Biography

I am a graduate of the National College of Art and Design where I was awarded a Joint Honours degree in Fine art and Education where I specialised in Sculpture and Expanded Practice. Throughout my four years in college I discovered my artistic path and my love for teaching.

As I progressed through my artistic career I gained a lot of new skills regarding working digitally, using different materials and mediums, to different approaches which can be taken when tackling a new project. My work mainly focuses on how we experience different situations, looking at how certain materials work to how we perceive them.  I have great interest in creating experiential art for both myself and the viewer.

Throughout my time in the educational aspect of the course I have attended many lectures which include philosophy, phycology, sociology, behavioural management, Visual Culture, Professional Practice and teaching methodologies. These lectures have allowed me to be prepared as I entered each of my teaching placements, carrying all the information with me.

The combination of my studio work and teaching placement works really well together as it allows myself and the students to create new projects, explore new materials and new approaches to projects. As  some of my studio projects are aided by an audience, this allows me to bring this methodology into the classroom and allows students to work together to see how we respond to different projects.
