Crane Lake Camp

Crane Lake Camp is part of the Union for Reform Judaism family of camps and youth programs. This programme hires staff from all around the world to come and work at their camp for the three months of the summer. Two of these months are for facilitating the campers, each staff member is put into a team to care and look after their own bunk. I had the opportunity to look after two bunks, in session one My bunk were a group of teenage girls between the ages of 14-16. For the second session I cared for a bunch of girls ages between 8-10.

When I wasn't looking after my bunk I spent my time inn the art room as the camp art facilitator, this job entailed catering for every bunk, giving each student a chance to get creative. During these programmes we did textile art, worked ceramics by hand and using electronic spin wheels, we also created jewellery and  had lots of time for painting.

My summer at crane lake was very rewarding as it allowed me to work with children of all ages and backgrounds.
