Theme: Bronze age (Recap on Newgrange for the First class in order to move on)
Scenario: To study and understand the Irish culture in the bronze age
Aim of Unit of Learning
Through material exploration and experimentation students will explore the Bronze age period using the framework of the Leaving cert art history question.
Learning outcomes for scheme/unit of learning:
1.2.collate information from a variety of sources and media
1.3 experiment with ideas, media and techniques
2.4 evaluate the meaning and context of chosen work
2.4 communicate the meaning and context of chosen work
3.5 respond to a selection of drawings, studies and realised work
Key Skills/ Statements of Learning
Questioning- Students will answer higher and lower order questions regarding PowerPoints, class discussions and recap
Exploring- students will explore how new artefacts were made through material exploration, they will also explore the historical evidence behind these artefacts and the time they were made in
Being literate- students will know the correct words and terminology to use in order to answer exam questions
Being numerate- students will know the measurements of certain objects, they will be able to draw annotated sketches at the right size
Communicating- students will take part in group discussion regarding recaps and investigating each new material we will look in each class
Managing information and thinking- Students will make sure that they keep all notes taken and handouts while adding their own adjustments and highlighting sentences and key words which they will find useful
Managing myself and Staying well- students will make sure that they work to the best of their ability while making sure they do not become to under pressure with the work given and that they understand all the information given
